Caty, a new work stool

Caty, a new work stool, has arrived and is ready to perfectly fit into a multitude of work environments.

Like every Grendene work stool, it can be adapted to the customer’s needs. For example, you can choose whether to buy it with castors or glides, with fixed armrests or without armrests, with nylon base or aluminum base.

Now let’s take a look at its shapes for a moment. Seat and backrest are anatomical and have a hexagonal and enveloping shape, which differentiates it, in terms of design, from all the other Grendene stools. The backrest is also equipped with a practical handle that allows it to be moved.

The height adjustment is by gas-spring and, as usual, takes place thanks to the lever under the seat; only in the case of Caty model, this lever is smaller and less bulky, even at sight.

The adjustable aluminum footrest, which you can see here in the Caty 80 polyurethane swivel stool version, offers further reinforcement to the structure and gives support to the user when the feet cannot touch the ground.

Caty, a new work stool

Caty, also available in the swivel work chair version, thanks to its technical qualities and its attractive design, can easily be used in laboratories, production departments, dentist’s offices and informal offices such as, for example, the brand-new home offices.

All this is possible thanks to its wide range of finishes. In fact, it is available in 3 different versions: in polyurethane, in polypropylene or with padded seat and polypropylene backrest.

Finishes

So how to choose the model that best suits your needs?

To make this choice, you must first ask yourself what the intended environment of the work stool is and whether chemicals or processes that can damage it are handled in this environment, as well as the expected usage times.

We will then look at what is the most advantageous finishing material in relation to the conditions set in place by the environment and the working methods.

Laboratory

Let’s take an example. In an environment such as a laboratory, where chemicals and sometimes corrosive substances are handled, the most suitable choice falls on polyurethane, which we know is a material resistant to chemicals, as well as easy to clean and disinfect.

Seat and backrest in polyurethane are available in four different colors: black, blue, red and gray.

Quick task stations

For all rapid task stations, in which the operations carried out while seated last a few minutes and are carried out by more than one person, the choice could fall on polypropylene, as it is also a very easy to clean, light and practical material.

Here too, colors available for the seat and backrest, just like polyurethane models, are: black, blue, red and gray.

Home office

If, on the other hand, the time of use is the most important factor, a stool with an unupholstered seat can become uncomfortable and even cause pain if it is used for prolonged periods. A very simple example is that of those who use the stool or the work chair in front of computerized workstations.

Here the optimal choice falls on the version with the padded seat, as it is much more comfortable. If used in an environment such as, for example, a home office, the seat upholstery can also be used to create a chromatic contrast or harmonize with the colors of the surrounding environment.
